Do I need to edit my theme for protection to work?

No. Checkout enforcement is server-side and works without any theme changes.

  • The enforcement runs through a Shopify Checkout Validation Function, so invalid quantities are blocked at checkout even with no app block installed.
  • The Quantity limit hints theme block is optional. Add it to product and cart templates if you want shoppers to see the requirement early and avoid checkout errors.
  • Theme edits cannot bypass the checkout validation.
